Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, 2009 at a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Antoine "Mac" Arnaud, age 79, who passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 3:35 a.m. at his residence in Arnaudville.
Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Readers will be Jaimee Knott and Angelle Hardy. Giftbearers will be Lydia Harrison, Julie Hardy, Jennifer Knott and Ashley Marks.

Mr. Arnaud was a native of Arnaudville, where he lived most of his life. He was a veteran of the military, having proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the U.S. Navy (LCDR) after twenty- seven years of service. He was a farmer in Garland, LA for twenty-one years. Mr. Arnaud was a member of the St. Landry Opelousas Chamber of Commerce for fourteen years, President of the National Board of Cajun French Music Association for two years, a real estate broker and owner of Arnaud Realty in Arnaudville for nine years, a member of the SLEID Board for one year, President of the Arnaudville Chamber of Commerce for one year, Louisiana Ethanol Board representing corn farmers for four years and a member of the Louisiana State Farm Bureau for two years. Mr. Arnaud was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville.

Survivors include two sons, Antoine "Tony" J.A. Arnaud, II of Youngsville, Sheelin "Mike" Arnaud of CO; two daughters, Paulette Adams of Merrimack, NH, Joy Lynn Arnaud of Church Point, LA; two brothers, Larry Jean Arnaud, Woodrow Joseph Arnaud, both of Arnaudville; five sisters, Emelie Grace Decker of Prairieville, Elsie Landry of Tulsa, OK, Seola May Edwards of Woodlands, TX, Margaret Mary Dayan of Westhills, CA, Madeline Angelle Arnaud of Arnaudville; and four grandchildren, Nicole Adams, Jessica Adams, Antoine J.A. Arnaud III, and Gavin Arnaud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Arnaud and the former, Angelle Arnaud, both natives of Arnaudville; three brothers, Allen Joseph Arnaud, Eldridge Joseph Arnaud, Clarence Arnaud; and two sisters, Aline Carson and Thelma Mavis Vige.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Arnaud, Larry J. Arnaud, Jr., Hunter Knott, Remi Olivier, Alex Hardy and Eric Hardy. Honorary pallbearers will be Woodrow Arnaud, Larry Arnaud and Richard Edwards.
