Topeka State Journal Monday 15 September, 1930, pg. 12:

A high tension electric wire early Sunday morning caused the death of Charles E. Armstrong, 42, an employee of the City Ice Company whose motor car came in contact with it. Armstrong was driving out of the alley near his home at 310 E. 12th Street when the wire which had presumably been severed by lightning, became entangled in his headlight. He alighted to remove the wire and was electrocuted by the 600-volt current.

Armstrong was a veteran of the World War and had been an employee of the ice company 9 years.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Armstrong;his mother, Mrs. Hugh Holder of Oskaloosa, and a sister, Mrs. C.R. Walquist of Kansas City, Kan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Penwell Chapel. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.
