Of Greenville, passed away peacefully at home of lung cancer on Monday December 6, 2010.
He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Helena C. Armstrong. Born in Wilmington, he graduated from Salesianum High School. He attended Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD, the University of Delaware and Villanova University. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Mr. Armstrong worked in the wholesale liquor and wine industry for the Delaware Beverage Company. He eventually owned the company until it was sold in the 1990's. He was also active in real estate for a number of years before retiring.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marie Lynne (Bryant); a son, Patrick L. of Hockessin; a daughter, Janette M. Hamm of Smyrna; and four grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday December 13, at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington.
