Carolyn Ruth Armstrong, 85, of Etowah, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at her residence.
She was a member of Grace Cathedral Church in Akron, Ohio, and was a daughter of the late Curtis and Agusta Radford.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Raymond Radford; and four sisters, Grace June Plott, Merlene Buckner, Blanche Cain and Lois Hair.
She loved God, her family and the outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Clifford E. Armstrong of Etowah; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connye Gazaway of Cartersville, Ga., Patsy and Pete Taylor of Resaca, Ga., and Amber and Bobby Banks of Etowah; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Laura Armstrong of Etowah; grandchildren, Deonda Scoggins, Jesslyn Jackson, Anthony Bonds, Ryan Armstrong, Leslie Armstrong, twins Alexandria Carolyn "Lexi" and Tyler Keegan Williams, and Chelsea Faith Banks; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Etowah Cemetery with Pastor Russ Maples officiating. Burial will follow in Etowah Cemetery.
No formal visitation will be held.
Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
