Lorease Jewell (Carroll) Armstrong, 92, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Midwest City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mary Niblack Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.
Lorease was born Oct. 16, 1921, to James Samuel Carroll and Margaret Mae (Bare) Carroll at Wilson. She married Freeman Armstrong on Jan. 7, 1942. Lorease was a graduate of Wheeler High School. She was a lifetime member of the choir at Mary Niblack Baptist Church of Ardmore.
She enjoyed attending family reunions. Lorease devoted her life to her husband, four sons and grandchildren. She was involved in every aspect of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Freeman Armstrong, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Lorease is survived by her four sons, T. Doyle Armstrong and wife, Nancy, of Bartlesville, Dale Armstrong and wife, Anna, of California, Gary Armstrong and wife, Margie, of Newalla, Okla., and Glen Armstrong and wife, Belinda, of Guthrie; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Griffin-Hillcrest.
