James William Armstrong, 69, of Tyler passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Tyler. Mr. Armstrong, a retired electrician, was born on March 20, 1943, in Grand Saline to James Henry Armstrong and Lilly Cornelis Wren Armstrong.

He loved to play guitar and sing for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Esperanza Armstrong, of Tyler; son, Christopher Vasquez, of Tyler; daughters, Angie and her husband Karl Dunwoody, of Bullard, Delia and her husband Johnny Olivo, of Lufkin, Christina and her husband Manuel Nunez, of Tyler, DeAnna Armstrong, of Kingsville, Kelly Armstrong, of San Antonio; brother, Leonard A. and his wife Judy Smith, of Lindale; sister, Nancy and her husband Charlie Caston, of Lindale; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Texas Highway 64 W., Tyler, with the Rev. Jose Lopez officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
