Clara Lorene Armstrong, 85, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
She lived the past four years in Wynne.
She was born October 29, 1924 in Clay County to the late George and Bertha (Rutledge) Moore.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Austin Armstrong; a daughter, Nancy Kaye Armstrong Utley; four brothers, Cleatis, Willie, Reedy and James, as well as five sisters, Cora, Vinnie, Viola, Dalley and Ruthie.
She was retired from Citizens Bank of Jonesboro where she worked as the Dining Room Director. Mrs. Armstrong was of the Anglican faith and was a member of Saint Timothy's Anglican Church in Jonesboro. She regularly attended Vanndale United Methodist Church while living in Wynne the past several years.
Survivors include her grandson, Colonel Michael D. Utley, United States Army; a grand daughter-in-law, Dayanne Utley of Wynne; one great-granddaughter, Jessica Utley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim West officiating. A private burial service was held at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.
Pallbearers will include, Doyle Rippy, Danny Bridges, Bobby Puryear, Browne Matthews, Otis Adams, and Fred Montgomery.
