SANTA FE — Mrs. Barbara Ann "Barbi" (Doss) Armstrong, 42, passed from this life Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at her home. Born April 21, 1966, in Texas City, Texas, Barbi was a special young lady who overcame many obstacles in her life and faced many challenges. She worked very hard and became an R.N. working at T.I.R.R. and Texas Children's Hospital. She will be missed for her quick wit and caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Aguilar and her grandparents.
Survivors include sons Kevin Wayne (Ashley) and Steven Curtis (Jewenda) Armstrong; grandsons Xchyler and Kevin Curtis Armstrong; husband, Kevin Armstrong; dad and mom, Wayne and Norma Doss; first mom, Beth Meshberger; sisters, Debra Doss, Cheryl Gibbs (Ray); brothers Michael (Kathy) and Dwayne Doss; sister and brother she was raised with, Lea (Shannon) Sharp and Brian (Colleen) Montague; fourteen very special nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law, Reba Armstrong.
Memorial services will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Peace Lutheran Church in Texas City.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.
