An Old Pioneer Gone to His Final Rest
Died Monday evening about 6 o'clock, G. W. Armontrout, aged seventy-seven years. The deceased was an old resident of the Carlton community, he and his wife having come to this country a good many years ago. "Uncle George," as he was affectionately called by his friends, was a man of unimpeachable character and enjoyed the respect and esteem of a large circle of friends. He was a good neighbor, a loyal friend, and always stood up for the right, and ever stood for law and upright living. He was married about 52 years ago, and he and his wife celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding a year ago last April.
