Elmer E. Armitage, age 87 of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific (LST 741). Elmer retired in 1988 from the American National Can Company, now Rexam, after 30 years of service.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Joanne M. (Morrison); four children, Debra Jo (Paul) White of Valparaiso, Leslie Dawn Antony of Valparaiso, Ivy Lynn (Melvin) Hettrick of Portage; and Richard Brian Armitage of Lac Du Flambu, WI; and three grandchildren, Erica Lynn Antony, Kristine Renee' White, and Brie Antoinette (Zac) DeYoung.
Private Family Services were held with cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
