CHARLES LUTHER ARMISTEAD

MATHEWS - Charles Luther Armistead, age 71 years, died at his home at Shadow, Monday afternoon, Feb. 2nd. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie G. Armistead, two daughters, Miss Aileen Armistead of Shadow, and Mrs. Willie Ingram, of Portsmouth; four brothers, Julius, Willie, Lindsey and Harry Armistead, all of Shadow.

Mr. Armistead was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church, Oriental Lodge No. 20 AF & AM and Naomi Tribe Improved Order of Red Men.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2 P.M. at St. Paul's church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. S. Grant. Interment was made in the church cemetery with Masonic and Red Men rites.

The active pallbearers were Charlie Armistead, Ed Armistead, Floyd Armistead, John Miller, C. A. White and Henry Diggs.
