|Birth: ||Nov. 20, 1745|
|Death: ||Apr. 18, 1840|
NOTE: There is a question as to whether her death was in 1840 or 1846. The stone looks like it may be 1846. But if this is the case, then would not the stone also indicate she had lived to age 100? (She was born in late 1745). The research published by descendant Craig Armington in 1994 favors the 1840 death year. And, looking at the stone, it may be that the stone itself was created much later than her death date, perhaps an inaccurate copy of the original.
She was the daughter of Daniel Walker and his first wife, Hannah (Barstow) Walker (1726-1748). They were married on Aug 1,1745 at Rehoboth,MA. They had two children, Esther (b.1745) and Nathan (1747-1752).
Marriage intentions are recorded at Rehoboth for Joseph Armington and Esther Walker on Apr 19,1760, when Esther would have been only 14. Their first child, Nathan, was born in November of that same year.
Esther was raised by her uncle Daniel Whitman as her father went to Genessee Co,NY to settle, according to Armington genealogies.
(NOTE: From JoAnn Rice, a descendant of Daniel Walker and his second wife, Sibbel -- "Daniel Walker ended up in Rensselaer Co, in Berlin,NY, and is buried in Southeast Hollow with a stone that only says 'D. Walker'. He's buried with 'S. Walker' and 'J. Walker', but there are church and census records in Stephentown and Berlin that give Daniel and James by name.")
