Francisco Teodoro "Ted" Armijo, a lifetime resident of Alameda, passed away at home at the age of 93 on Monday, November 16, 2009 surrounded by his loved ones.
Ted is survived by his wife of 71 years, Angelina Alarid Armijo, his children, Frank Armijo and his wife, Patsy, Ronnie Armijo and his wife, Haleen, Gina Olivas and her husband, Ron and Roseann Hoisington. Ted's descendants consist of 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Ted graduated from Albuquerque High School and then went on to serve in the United States Navy during World War II. Ted worked in various fields including real estate and agriculture and retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 years of service. Ted was a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Alameda and an active volunteer participating in many church committees including a member of the parish council, church celebrations, school building campaign, a member of the Holy Name Society, and was a well known usher for many years. Ted's greatest love was God and his family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass led by Bishop Arthur Tafoya on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. The interment will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009, at French ~ Wyoming Chapel beginning at 6:00 p.m. followed by the vigil at 7:00 p.m.
