Adelina Armijo age 69 passed away on May 6, 2010 from her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born May 14, 1940 in Barney, NM to Enocencio and Adella Sanchez. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1958 and attended and graduated from De Wolf Beauty School in Santa Fe, NM. Adelina married Art D. Armijo in 1961 in Clayton, NM and went on to become co-owner of Art's Hairstyling and Beauty Salon. Adelina also worked as an Election Judge for many years and also was self-employed.
Adelina was preceded in death by her husband Art, parents Enocencio and Adella Sanchez, brothers Raymond and Eloy. Brother's in-law Manuel Martinez and Nestor Cordon.
She is survived by her son Arthur and wife Elaine Armijo and grandsons Arthur Jr. and Nicklaus Armijo, daughter Stella and husband Jeff Strange granddaughter Holly Shelton and grandson Roman Strange and daughter Juanita Gallegos. Sisters and brothers: Beatrice Martinez of Lamar. CO ., Lillian Cordova of Clayton, NM., Teresina and Joe Montano of Clayton, NM., Benny Sanchez and Daniel Sanchez of Clayton, NM., Eloise and George Sisneros of Aztec, NM, Gloria and Charles Espinoza of Portales, NM., Carmel and Johnny Sisneros of Dalhart, TX., and Eloy and Gloria Gonzales of Littleton, CO. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Saturday May 15th at 9:00am at St. Patrick's/ St. Joseph's Catholic Church followed by the Solemn Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30am with Father Daniel Balizan as the celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment will be held in Gladstone Cemetery in Gladstone, NM where she will be buried next to her husband. Dinner will follow at the Gladstone Community Center. Arrangements for Adelina Armijo are under the direction of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
