Ruben was born Los Angeles,but grew up in
Pico Rivera.
Enlisting in the Marines 12 May 1966,at the
Los Angeles AFEES.He was 17 years and 5
months old.
Ruben arrived in Vietnam and was assigned
to India Company,3rd Battalion,9th Marine
Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
Ruben died as a result of several gunshot
wounds to his back,left side of the head and
right leg during an engagement with hostile
forces.at Hill 70,6 kilometers north northwest
of Cam Lo.
Ruben and 14 Marines died at the "Battle of
Getlin's Corner",Hill 70,6 kilometers north
northwest of Cam Lo.
Ruben was single and served his country for
10 months and 18 days.KIA#10,807.
Tour of duty date unknown.
He was 18 years,4 months and 10 days old.
Survived by his mother;Ophelia Armenta and
a sister;Ruby Armenta of 6301 Bonnie Vela
Ave,Pico Rivera,CA.
