Amos R. Armacost, 71, R.R.2, Eaton (Campbellstown), died suddenly after a short illness at his residence Tuesday morning.
He was a retired grocery store owner in Campbellstown and had resided in Jackson Township, Preble County, more than 50 years. He served as a Jackson school bus driver 23 years, was clerk of the Jackson Township Board of Trustees, a sposition he had held the past 16 yeas.
He was a member of the Campbellstown United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his widow, Mary House Armacost; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Griffis of Campbellstown; two sisters, Mrs. Rae Alrey of Lusbu, Md., and Mrs. Prrtis Alban of Washington, D.C.; a brother, J.M. Armacost, R.R.2, Eaton; three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Armacost will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Barnes Funeral Home in Eaton with burial in Mound Hill Union Cemetery at Eaton. Friends may call from 4 to 9p.m. Thursday at the Barnes Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Preble County Cancer Society.
