Mrs. Ardis died after an illness of one day at her home in Eliasville, Texas. Rev. Cook of Crystal Falls conducted the funeral service and her body was interred in Eliasville cemetery. Thursday morning, she seemed much better, but soon grew unconscious and that evening passed away. She moved to Hunt County, Texas with her parents in 1872. In the spring of 1895, Cora and her sister, Effie came to Eliasville to visit their brother, S.J. Dinsmore, and while here she met J.C. Ardis and they were married on 17 November 1895 in Eliasville. She was the mother of four boys and two girls. The oldest child preceded her in death. Survived by her husband; five little children; two brothers; and three sisters. She was converted when quite a young girl and united with the Methodist Church where she lived a devoted Christian life until her death.
