SALISBURY -- Alton L. Ardis, 80, born Sept. 15, 1923, left this old world for a better home Thursday, May 13, 2004.
He was a son of the late Marion and Ada Ardis of Pocomoke City.
Mr. Ardis worked for Dresser Industries for 44 years. He was a member of Salisbury Baptist Temple and enjoyed serving God.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Ardis; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and George Parker of Salisbury; a grandson and his wife, Andy and Becky Parker of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Lenora Granberg of Clemson, S.C.; a brother and his wife, Ralph and Doris Ardis of Pocomoke City; five nieces; and one nephew.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Salisbury Baptist Temple on Hobbs Road in Salisbury. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Paul Hall, assisted by the Rev. Oren Perdue, will officiate. Interment will be in Remson Cemetery in Pocomoke City.
