Ernie, a native of La Cieneguilla (Pilar), was the son of Jose Manuel Archuleta and Eva Martinez-Suazo. He was survived by his wife Helen Jeantet; children: Louisa McHugh (husband Thomas) of Wabash, Minnisota; Henrietta Archuleta of Santa Fe; Conrad of Santa Fe, and Michael of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren: Thomas Michael McHugh, Matthew Archuleta, and Jason Archuleta; sister: Teodora Gonzales, Senaida Martinez, and Helen Warren; brothers: J.M "Joe", Nick (wife Dolores), and Tony (wife Mary); and many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Ernie was an Army Veteran of World War II. He served in England, France, and Germany until his honorable discharge. He worked in various occupations and made a good living for his family. He was a loving person and ever helpful.
