Amanda Nestora Archuleta was born June 7, 1903 in Costilla, New Mexico; the daughter of Librado and Margarita (Medina) Archuleta. She was reared and educated in the Costilla area.
She married Moses Arellano in 1921 in Costilla and to this union three children were born. Mr. Arellano was killed in 1927 in a riding accident at Morton's Ranch in Douglas, Wyoming where he was working. Amanda and the children then moved to Douglas to a homestead in the Box Creek area in 1929.
In 1931, she married Tel Andrada in Douglas, and to this union two children were born. They lived in Douglas for several years, and then in 1941 they moved to Buffalo, Wyoming. Mr. Andrada died in 1971 and Mrs. Andrada continued to live in Buffalo until 1978 at which time she moved to Glenrock, Wyoming where she resided until moving to a nursing home in Casper.
She was survived by sons Richard Arellano of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Moses Arellano of Glendive, Montana; daughters Genevieve Ortega of Douglas; Lucy Oellrich of Rapid City, South Dakota and Dorothy Wagner of Glenrock; brother Manuel Archuleta of Casper; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three sisters, two brothers and one grandson.
