RIPLEY, W.Va. - Ada R. Archer, 93, Sandyville, died at her home Thursday.
She was born in Jackson county, a daughter of the late William D. and Almeeda Cox Rardian. She was a member of the Drift Run methodist Church, was the past matron of the R. Dougals Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Navy mothers Club, the Rebecca Lodge. She held the grand cross of colors Ladies Oriental Shrine, the American Legion Auxiliary and the ladies auxiliary of the VFW.
She was a school teach before her marriage. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Archer's Esso Station.
She is survived by two sons, Calvin M. Archer, Wilmington, N.C, and Martin D. Archer, Springfield, Va.; one sister, Bessie R. Truman, Sandyville, Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Archer, a son, Lewis R. Archer; a daughter, Ethel Archer Kittle; three brothers and one sister.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley; with the Rev. James Pinkerton officiating. Burial will be in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
