The funeral of Dr. John B. Archer, Democratic chairman of this congressional district, who died in Washington D.C., Friday, was held in Spencer Sunday afternoon and burial was in the Riverside cemetery. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Jonn Ragle of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Spencer and Willis Hickam of the Owen County Bar made a brief talk.
Governor Ralston who expected to attend the funeral was unable to be present. The Knights of Pythias Lodge of which the deceased was a member, had charge of the burial ceremonies. Many floral tributes were received from
men who are prominent in political and official circles in Indiana and at Washington.
