Mary was born in Missouri and studied music and language at the Kirksville, Missouri academy. She married William Henry Dull at 18. They lived in Macon, Missouri for twenty five years and had five children. She played piano in church. They moved to the vicinity of Sheldon, Missouri where she lived for the rest of her life. She has ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She has more than fifty living descendants. She died in Colton, California and is buried there along with her daughter, Mabel, and Mabel's husband.
