ARBUCKLE, EDWARD, Field and Service, Assistant Surgeon, enlisted for 3 years and mustered in at Union City, TN on 25 Dec 1863 at age 42 (b. 1821). A resident of Henry Co, TN near Como, he brought a servant (Emily Dark) with him into the service. (The 1850 and 60 census show only one male servant so Emily may be a man.) Arbuckle was captured with the regiment at Union City, TN on 24 Mar 1864 and remained a POW until the regiment reached Mobile, AL but was released on 6 May 1864 for unknown reasons. He returned to the members of the regiment who escaped capture who were then stationed at Columbus, KY. Later he was the doctor for the 7th at Paducah, KY where he worked for improving sanitary conditions in camp. He mustered out with the regiment at Nashville on 9 Aug 1865. Arbuckle died on 16 Sep 1883 and is buried in the Phelps Cemetery in Henry County along with his wives Charlotte and Frances Arbuckle.
