Lieutenant G. A. Arbogust, USN, was a former Naval Aviation Pilot (NAP), 1942. Died, among 91 killed, as a result of a massive explosion and resulting fire aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. BENNINGTON (CVA-20) while she operated in the Western Atlantic.

George was the son of the late George Elwood and Leonora (Baumeister) Arbogust. He was survived by his widow, the former Miss Judith Pierrette St. Clair.
