Blake Don Arave, 42, returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 10, 2011 after a long courageous battle with diabetes.
He was born on May 26, 1968 in Ogden, UT. His parents are Carolyn Hadley Swallow and John F. Swallow Jr., of Syracuse and Stephen Roy Arave and Linda Arave of West Valley City.
Blake grew up in North Ogden and Syracuse, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1986.
Blake's love for his nieces and nephews made him the biggest kid at heart. He was always laughing out loud, watching movies, playing games and singing to music. He loved to lend out his huge collection of movies and was always first in line for the newest release.
He is survived by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters; Jeff (LeAnn) Swallow, Steve (Glenda) Swallow, Stan Swallow, Rawn Swallow, Melanie (Jay) Smith, Trish (Vern) Smith, Colleen Arave, Christie (Thom) Knight, Suzette (Jeff) DeBartolo, Rick Swallow, and Shelly (Zach) Higley. He is also survived by his grandparents Donna Arave of Hooper and Rich and Eunice Hadley of North Ogden.
He is preceded in death by his grandpa Don Arave, uncle Dale Arave, and cousins Roger Butler and Shaleen Arave.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Farmington Bay Dialysis Center and to all of the many health providers throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden.
