Rites For F. Arand In Monday - Our community was saddened by the death of our former neighbor and friend, Fred J. Arand, who died at the Wamego hospital, May 5, after a brief illness. Mr. Arand was a Wabaunsee County Commissioner eight years. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter, Lilly. Mr. Arand is survived by two sons: Walter Arand, St. Marys; Fred W. Arand, McFarland; and a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Gnadt, Alma. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon in St. John's Lutheran Church, Alma, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Kaw Township. We express our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families."
