Tommy “Tomas” Aragon, 51, of Milan, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, in Milan.
He was born to Juaquin “Jake” Aragon and Adela Gonzales Aragon on April 13, 1954, in Gallup.
An active commander for the Sons of the American Legion for 10 years, Mr. Aragon was employed with Wal-Mart before his illness.
Mr. Aragon is survived by his wife Dawn of Milan; his sons Tomas Aragon Jr. of Milan and Bryan Duhon of Colorado, now serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq; his brothers Douglas Aragon of Gallup, Nabor Aragon of Cubero and Theodore Aragon of Cubero; his sisters Yolanda Garcia of California, Ida Aragon of Cubero, Catherine Talamante of Utah and Brenda Pickerd of Arizona; his granddaughter Ashley Duhon of Florida; his grandson Maddux Donisthorpe of Colorado and 43 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juaquin “Jake” Aragon and Adela Gonzales Aragon; his brothers Roger Aragon and Julius Aragon and his sister Dolores Aragon.
A Rosary was recited on Thursday, Feb. 23, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants. Funeral mass will be held today, Friday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Keller officiating. Burial will take place at the Cubero Community Cemetery Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Denny and Benjamin Aragon. Honorary pallbearers will be all his friends and family.
Compassion Mortuary and Ford and Sons Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
