"APPLING FUNERAL WAS HELD LAST SATURDAY.
Remains of Young Matron Laid Away In Mountain View Cemetery.
The funeral of Mrs. Edythe E. Appling was held from Stephens and Bean's chapel on Saturday [August 22] with interment at Mountain View cemetery, Mrs. Monett, first reader of Christ Scientist church, officiating. Surviving the deceased are husband and infant [Edith], mother, Mrs. Annie Buckingham of Oakland, Ross Buckingham of Lodi, Ray and John of San Francisco, Mrs. Florence Bogard of Black Diamond and Mrs. Blanche Stansbury of Los Angeles, all of whom were here for the obsequies. Mrs. Appling was born in Hanford, Kings county, Cal., January 31st, 1891, and when only a child the family removed to Fresno, living here until one year ago, when residence was taken up in Oakland. She was married to Stephen Appling July 3rd, 1907, and returned to Fresno to live. Lingering one week after the birth of a baby girl, death came peacefully, and at her bedside were the husband, mother and sister, Mrs. Stansbury."
