Buford Thompson Apple, 84, of Springfield, died Friday January 24, 2014 at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday January 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Evans officiating.
Interment will follow in Robertson County Memorial Gardens with Paul Fuqua, Keith Woodall, Anson Woodall, David Dean, Tony Cobb, Mike Hollingsworth, and Kelvin Penuel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Hollingworth and William Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Apple was born July 18, 1929 in Robertson County to the late Comer and Sallie Hunt Apple.
He was a retired accountant and farmer. Mr. Apple was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Martha Lucinda Hammond Apple, and by his son: Larry Apple.
Mr. Apple is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Leigh and Christine Apple of Springfield, brother: John H. Apple of Nashville, sister and brother-in-law: Jane and Robert Martin of White House, grandchildren: Racheal (Adam) Chapman, Jeremiah (Crystal) Apple, Sr., Rebecca (Justin) Palinchak, great grandchildren: Kurik and Berit Chapman, Jeremiah Apple, Jr., and Alexa Riley.
