Hugh A. Apple, age 78 of Pensacola passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009.
Mr. Apple was a member of East Brent Baptist Church and a graduate of Bob Jones University with honors. He also graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with honors. He was fluent in Greek and Hebrew and published the first of his four volume set of books called "Daily Bible Studies in God's Masterplan". He also pastored three churches in Kansas, Missouri and Texas. He enjoyed playing Gospel music on the banjo, mandolin and guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh W. & Rosie Apple; sister, Darlene Rahab and granddaughter, Faith Apple.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jo Ann Antrim Apple; four children, David A. Apple (Mica), Mark D. Apple, Michael D. Apple and Elizabeth D. Apple Hernandez; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Britney, Nathan, Victoria, Tanya, Sara, and Lucas; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Hudson, and Kashton; three brothers, Howard Apple (Jean), Glenn Apple (Winnie), and George Apple (Evelyn); sister, Marydell Shaw (Jess); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:15 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at East Brent Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Louis Cannon, Lamar Kilcrease, Joe Johnson, Vernon Trivett, Melvin Marshall, and Enzor Kimbro.
FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel South from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Hugh's name to the Building Fund at East Brent Baptist Church, 4801 N. Davis Hwy. Pensacola, FL 32503.
