Josephine (Jody) Robinson, 66, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Jody was born March 16, 1947 in Topeka, the daughter of Ralph C. Appelhanz, Sr. and Margaret Mary (Maggie) Puhl Appelhanz.
She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Hayden High.
On June 3, 1967, Jody and Ronald Robinson were united in marriage. They enjoyed over 46 years together. They enjoyed square dancing as members of Top Kan Twirlers Square Dance Club. They owned and operated Kreigs Flowers in Topeka in 1976. Jody was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1978 to 1993. She then worked for the State of Kansas Real Estate Commission until retirement. Jody was a member of Christ the King Catholic Chuch.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; children Ryan Robinson, and his wife, Rachel, and Ronette (Missey) Robinson; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Tyler, Garrett and Nelise Robinson; her siblings, Ralph Appelhanz, Jr., Margaret Shields, Patricia Burghart, Richard Appelhanz, Mary Ann Haag, Ruth Ann Phillips, and Paulette Haffenstein.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rosella Appelhanz.
A parish rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m tonight at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, after which family will greet friends until 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
