Tedorio "Ted" Apodaca, 67, of Long Beach, Calif., passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in Long Beach following a brief illness.

Mr. Apodaca was born on March 5, 1939, to Jesus Apodaca and Emma Gutierrez-Martinez Apodaca in San Mateo.

From San Mateo Mr. Apodaca moved to the Long Beach area, where he resided for about the last 40 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Wilmington, Calif., and was a committed Christian. He is remembered as a loving father who worked hard to provide for his family. He will be missed by his friends and family.

Mr. Apodaca is survived by his son Tedorio "Teddy" Apodaca Jr. and wife Rachel of Long Beach; his three daughters Theresa Apodaca of Lakeside, Calif., Patricia "Patsy" Rogersen and husband of Seattle, Wash., and Jessica Calderon and husband Jessie of Long Beach; his sister Jenny Baca and husband Santiago "Jimmy"; his brother Pete Apodaca of Albuquerque; his four grandchildren Daniel Apodaca of Lakeside, Calif., Ryan Rogersen of Seattle, Trevor Rogersen of Seattle and Brianna Apodaca of Long Beach; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesus Apodaca and Emma Gutierrez-Martinez Apodaca and his brother Benjamin Apodaca.

Visitation will take place today, Tuesday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grants Mortuary. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the San Mateo Baptist Mission off of Cemetery Road in San Mateo. Graveside services and interment will follow at San Mateo Cemetery. Pastor Robert Pouges will officiate. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #3221.

Pallbearers will include Ted J. Apodaca Jr., Joseph Baca, Fernie Lucero, Art Lucero, Pete Apodaca and Jessie Calderon.

Grants Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
