Walter E. Apgar, 83, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ, where he has resided for nearly seven years. Born: On June 4, 1924, in Lebanon Township, NJ, he was a son of the late William Francis and Annabel Kearns Apgar. Personal: Walter was the husband of the former Lois Castmore of Plumsteadville, Pa. He resided in Hampton, NJ, prior to moving to the care center. Walter was employed as a custodian at Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ, retiring in 1989. He served in the Army in Germany during peacetime. Memberships: He was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, Pleasant Grove, NJ. Survivors: In addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Hoffman and her husband Dwayne of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, William Apgar of Lebanon Township, NJ, and a sister, Dorothy Cawley of Raritan Township, NJ. Services: Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Coughlin Funeral Home, 15 Academy Street, Califon, NJ, followed by burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, NJ. Call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home. Published in The Express Times on 5/13/2008.
