This memorial was set up for a distant cousin of mine, Aaron Henry Antley, Memorial #40421091, who died on August 29, 1951. His father was Richard Antley who died on August 28, 1951. They died from injuries sustained in a head on collision on August 26, 1951 just past the store in Point. The car they were in was driven by Ocie Lewis, your Memorial #40752122 who had minor injuries. The other vehicle was driven by Ernest Cartlidge, your Memorial #40548341 who sustained minor injuries. I was in that car with Mr. Cartlidge and his wife and daughter. Mrs. Cartlidge had serious head injuries and was not expected to live through that night but she did and lived to be 82 years old. The daughter had a broken leg and even though I had no broken bones, I had multiple deep cuts and had many stitches, the most severe to my face. It was definitely a miracle that any of us lived in that car as we were all in the front seat and the car was totally demolished.
