Vina Mae Antisdel
Vina Mae Antisdel. 65, daughter of Joseph T. and Bertha L. Hayes Gourley, was bom June 21, 1924 in Carbon and died Nov. 4. 1989 at Mercy Hospital in Coming.
She graduated from Coming High School in 1942 and taught school for one year in Carl Township. On July 11, 1943 she married Leon Junior Antisdel at Coming.
They lived in Carl for 15 years, then moved to Corning in 1958 where she worked as a nurse's aide at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and hree years at the Adams County Home as head cook. In April, 1973 she began employment at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston from which she had just retired. The day of her death was to have been her last working day.
She was an active member of Ourcq Post 117, American Legion Auxiliary. She had served as president in 1973 and 1974, had held other offices, and was presently a member of the Executive Board. She was a member of the Carl United Methodist Church while she lived there.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law. Carl Tugel and Earl Bramow. She is survived by her husband: her children, Larry Leon Antisdel and his wife Judy of Coming, and Nancy Jo Nielsen and her husband Paul of Des Moines; a sister, Venessa Bramow of Creston; a brother. Dale Gourley and his wife Shirley of Sumner, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Freda Tugel of Corning; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 7 at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home In Corning with Joe Cook officiating. Casket bearers were Ron Brown, Joe Bowers, Jake Tugel, Dave Bramow, Don Willett, and Earl Burkhalter. Honorary bearers were Bob Bell. Ed Scott. Wendell Bell. L.O. Tilford, Charlie Jones, and Carl Lawrence. Burial was in the Carl Cemetery.
