Alan Anthony completed his journey through life after losing a courageous battle against cancer at the age of 48 on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the Community Hospice of Texas, James L. West Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He was lovingly surrounded by his wife, Cathy Anthony, his mother, Susan Donna Anthony, his aunt, Helen H. Richardson, and father-in-law, Troy Shaw. Alan was accompanied from his earthly family and friends by his brother, Mark S. Anthony and Saint Michael, the Archangel.
Alan was born on October 15th, 1960, in Independence, MO, the son of Ralph E. Anthony and Susan Donna Howe Anthony. He graduated from Pittsburg High School, Pittsburg, KS. Following high school graduation, he joined the United States Army, proudly serving his enlistment term, including overseas duty tours. He was honorably discharged in Fort Hood, TX. Eventually, he settled in North Richland Hills, TX, where he worked for more than twenty years with the Dallas-Forth Worth Airport, Airport Board. Alan was an avid literature reader, a writer of many short stories, a Civil War history buff, a collector of Flow Blue china, and with great love, he cared for many beautiful rose bushes and a water fountain in his back yard. Alan will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Mark S. Anthony, his maternal grandparents, Frances L. Howe, Marshall, MO, and Charles E. Howe, Great Bend, KS, his paternal grandparents, Dorothy Henrietta Anthony, Independence, MO, and Arley H. Anthony, Bartlesville, OK, and one uncle, William "Bill" Howe of Nelson, MO.
Alan is survived by his wife, Cathy Anthony; step-children Nicholas and Melody Weller; granddaughter Crystal Reid, "his beloved Noodle" of the home; his two daughters, Tara Anthony and companion, Jeremy Robinson, and children, Dylan, Brandi, and Jeremy Robinson, Jacksboro, TX; and Pamela Anthony and companion, Kevin Byrd, Bedford, TX; his mother, Susan Donna Howe Anthony, Marshall, MO; his father, Ralph E. Anthony, Caney, KS; his beloved brother, Patrick N. Anthony and wife, Debra, Pittsburg, KS; his special brother uncle, Johnny R. Anthony and wife, Karen, Sandia Park, NM; uncles, Richard L. "Huey" Anthony and wife, Tammy, Grandview, MO, and Lawrence "Larry" Anthony, Kansas City, MO; aunts Martha Sue Lutgen and husband, Bill, Bates City, MO, Helen H. Richardson, Palestine, TX, Catherine H. Stolberg, Independence, MO; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Troy and Lorna Shaw, North Richland Hills, TX; sister-in-law, Tammy Shaw, TX; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Family members thank all for the many prayers and Masses said for Alan.
