Services for Mildred M. Amberg, 84, Janesville, who died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, 1989 at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home, Waseca, where she had been a resident for two years, were 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Janesville. The Rev. Elmer Kellen officiated. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Janesville.
Visitation was 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Arnoldt Funeral Home in Janesville and one hour before services ar the church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Ronald Wiste, Robert Farley, Cliff Gardner, Hughie Courtney, Francis Schultz and Lowell Wobschall.
Mrs. Amberg was born in Alma City, Feb. 16, 1904, to Claude and Luetta (Brooks) Anthony. She attended "Priem School" in rural Waseca County. She married Frank Amberg, Jan. 22, 1919, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Janesville. They farmed until 1968 in rural Janesville and then moved into Janesville. She was a homemaker and helped farm. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and had been a resident of the nursing home since February of 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie and her husband, Herman Roeker of Owatonna, and Margaret Mohs of Waseca; a son, Frank Jr. of Waseca; five grandchildren; a step grandchild; 19 great grandchildren; a step-great grandchild; 13 great-great grandchildren; six step-great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sept. 28, 1978; two sisters, a brother, two grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law.
