OBITUARY:

C. Neal Anthoine III, 61
WINDHAM -- C. Neal Anthoine III, 61, of Windham, died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1949, the son of Charles and Ruth (Hurley) Anthoine Jr. Neal grew up in Portland graduating from Deering High School in 1968. He worked for the City of Portland Parks & Recreation Department and then with his father at Anthoine Body Shop. He worked for W.A. Messer for 23 years as a welder, body shop mechanic for 23 years until an injury forced him to stay home in 2001.
Neal was an outstanding athlete at Deering, excelling in football and baseball. After high school, slow pitch softball provided him, his friends, and family lots of fun and happy memories. He then lived his love of sports through Danielle and Brad's high school athletics. Besides brook trout fishing, Neal enjoyed deer hunting with his dad, brother, son Chuck and close friends. He enjoyed cooking, especially spaghetti sauce, and was the grill master at family cookouts and celebrations. Neal had a great sense of humor and loved his family unconditionally.
Neal was a member of the Portland Eagles Casco Aerie #545 and the Columbia Club. He would have celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary on Feb. 22, 2011.
Neal was predeceased by his father in 2006. He is survived by his mother; his loving wife, Terri (Crawford); sons, Chuck, Chris and Brad, daughter, Danielle; granddaughter, Jaelynn; three brothers, Steve (wife Kathy), Bob and Billy; an aunt, an uncle; cousins; nieces, nephews; special in-laws; and many long time friends. His dogs, Sadie and Kiley, were his best buddies.
A graveside burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Smith Cemetery, Route 202, Windham, with the Rev. Philip Shearman officiating. All are welcome to attend. Please join the family for a celebration of Neal's life at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the Portland Eagles, 184 St. John St., Portland. Arrangements are by the Dolby Funeral Chapel.
