She was especially proud that all of her five children became college graduates. After raising five children, Carolyn moved to Atlanta, Ga., and worked at the High Museum of Art until she retired in 1996. As family was always the most important part of her life, she was then able to enjoy traveling around the country visiting her children and grandchildren. Since 1999 Carolyn has resided at Tybee Island, Ga, where she loved her seaside home, ocean breezes, happy hours, seafood restaurants and entertaining family and friends. She also greatly enjoyed spending summers in upstate New York at Keu-ka Lake and the family farm near Hall. She hosted an annual reunion of family and friends at Keuka Lake that became affectionately known as "lake-fest."
