Ann Vessey Annis was the widow of Harvey Annis 1825-1965. Harvey and his young daughter were drowned in the Mississippi River during the tragic sinking of the "Sultana" on April 27, 1865. Ann survived.

Mrs. Annis Dead
Last night Mrs. Annis, an old and well known resident of this city, died at her home, 312 Fifth street, of paralysis (stroke). She was 84 years of age. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Second Methodist church. Interment will be held at Riverside cemetery.
