Josephine Anness Winkle, age 94, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, formerly of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, at her home. Born on January 25, 1924, in Pendleton County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles Frank and Lauretta Godman Anness. She married Harry Winkle, and her husband preceded her in death in 1979. Known for her amazing cooking, "Granny" loved taking care of her family. The more the merrier. She was a homemaker. For many years, she was a member of Colemansville Christian Church, where she helped with Sunday school, Bible school and cleaning the church. Once she moved to Cynthiana, she joined Cynthiana Christian Church, where she was active as long as her health would allow.

She is survived by: two children, Charles Winkle, of Aurora, Indiana, and Annetta Winkle Ison, of Cynthiana; six grandchildren, Leslie Winkle, Preston Winkle, Crystal Holts, Julia Noel, Jason Winkle and Harry Miller; 14 great-grandchildren, Amanda Jo, Hank, Anastasia, Daniel, Lexi, Ricky, Katie, Timmy, Carley, Wyatt, Kaylee, Kayla, Christean and Leah; three great-great-grandchildren, Logan, Nyla, and Oakley Joe; her God granddaughter, Ember Rayne; and a host of extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Howard Winkle, Leroy Winkle and Larry Winkle.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, at Woodhead Funeral Home, in Berry. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, preceding the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Pythian Grove Cemetery, in Berry. Memorials are suggested to Colemansville Christian Church, in Berry.
