ANGLAND, Patrick John
Death came during the night between Friday evening and Saturday morning to Patrick John Angland, Lakeview Pioneer, at his home here. Death was attributed to acute coronary occlusion.
Mr. Angland, whose wife proceeded him in death, was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, about 68 years ago in New Market, County Cork Ireland. He was one one of a family of 11 children, and the only one who emigrated to America. Pat often told the story of how the Irish boys didn't stop in the United States but came directly to Lake County. He came to Lake County on April 12, 1902, and then engaged in the sheep business and later farming, owning a farm several miles north of Lakeview but maintaining his residence in town. While the sheep business in the early years of his residence here, Pat lost 729 sheep one winter when they frozen to death in a blizzard.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Hensen of the Lakeview school faculty, and Mrs. Patricia Geaney of Lakeview. one son John Angland ; 4 Grand Children, Maureen Geaney, Allen Hansen, Patrick and Loretta Angland, the last two the children of John Angland, and two sisters, Ellie Ford and Bridget Angland of Ireland.
