Ernest Angelo, 91, a retired bricklayer, died of myelofibrosis Saturday at Kane Regional Center, Scott. Mr. Angelo lived most of his life in Stowe, where he once served as a township commissioner. In 1941, he traveled to Washington, D.C., to secure federal funds to restore the Stowe Tunnel. Also in the 1940s, he was general superintendent of the Armstrong Cork Co. in Pittsburgh. He left Armstrong Cork in 1949 to start his own construction business. Mr. Angelo also worked in the insurance and realty business, and at one time was a partner in the Victor Real Estate Co. He also once managed the Ohio View Acres and Mooncrest housing projects for Allegheny County. He was one of the founders and first president of the Tap Club in Stowe.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two sons, Michael of McKees Rocks and Dennis of Cheswick; a sister, Evelyn BRUECKMAN of Elkton, Md.; and a granddaughter. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the Anthony J. Sanvito Inc. Funeral Home, 1650 Broadway St., Stowe, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will follow in Mt.
