PASADENA,MARYLAND -- Nellie Mary (Angellatta) Malamphy, 98, of Pasadena, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at the home of her son, Edward Malamphy Jr., of Pasadena.

Born Aug. 20, 1913, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of legal Italian immigrants, Francisco and Christina (Srevo) Angellatta. She is the last survivor of their seven children. She was married 51 years to her late husband, Edward L. Malamphy Sr., who died Sept. 29, 1992. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin M. Malamphy, who died Sept. 24, 1998.

She is the mother of three children, Christina A. (Malamphy) Taylor and husband Edward Sr., of LaVale, Edward Malamphy Jr. and wife Diane, of Pasadena, and Rosemary Brown and husband Daniel of Seven Valleys, Pa. Nellie is survived by eight grandchildren, one of whom still resides in the Cumberland area, Edward W. Taylor Jr. She is the great-grandmother of 13, with two residing in this area, Leland and Simon Taylor. She is the great-great-grandmother of one.

For the past eight years, Nellie has resided with her son under the constant care of her lovely daughter-in-law, Diane Malamphy. Nellie Malamphy is a long time member of the Cumberland (Md) Historic Cemetery Organization and a member of St. Jane Frances De Chantel Roman Catholic Church, Rivera Beach, MD.

Visitation will be held in the Stallings Funeral Home, Pasadena, on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed by the Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization at 7:30 p.m. The Rosary will be led by oldest grandson, Edward W. Taylor Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jane Frances De Chantel Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m.

Burial will be with her husband at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
