Cornelius Bridges Angell was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1857, the son of Isaac and Mary (Bridges) Angell, both natives of England, who came to this country in an early day and settled in Wisconsin and there Isaac Angell spent the rest of his life. In 1878 Mrs. May Angell came to Charles City, and here married Peter Rose. She continued to live in Charles City up to the end of her life, her death occurring in 1890.

Cornelius was one of five children born to his parents.

One December 14, 1887, Cornelius was married to Elizabeth Morean, who was born in Wisconsin on January 4, 1866. To Mr. and Mrs. Angell two children were born: Ray M. and Gladys.

Mrs. C. B. Angell, 79, Long Beach, CA, died following a fracture of the pelvis seven weeks ago. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Lyle Board; burial was at Long Beach.
