Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt Barta Gay Andrews, 79, passed away on Friday March 25 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 23 1936 in Manila, Utah, daughter of Charles and Wanda Greenhalgh Potter. She was raised and educated in Green River, Wyoming.

On February 1, 1957 Barta married Wayne Edward Andrews in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Following her marriage to Wayne they lived in several states, including Rapid City, South Dakota and Santa Maria, California, after which they moved to North Ogden, Utah where they lived from 1971 until the time of her death.

Barta was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in numerous callings.

Barta was a dedicated season ticket holder of Weber State University Men’s Basketball. Barta was a dedicated volunteer at the McKay Dee Hospital where she spent her Fridays for the last thirty five plus years; as well as being employed at Weber State University book store. In spite of her busy schedule she always had time for her family and friends. Barta was an avid bowler. She loved to build puzzles, crochet, collect nativities, and her all-time favorite thing, OWLS.

Barta loved camping with her family. She has traveled from one end of the globe to the other. She was a wonderful Grandmother and showed her grandchildren unconditional love, she was always there for them, from babysitter to camp cook to river running shuttle driver; they knew they could always depend on her.

Surviving are her children David Andrews, Ogden, UT; Toni (Steven) Schlange, North Ogden, UT; Traci (Eric) White Far West; seven grandchildren, Jonathon, Shasta, Sharee, Chaz, Mason, Hudson, Aspen “Granny Nanny,”; and five great-grandchildren.
