Hazel Andrews McNeeley, age 84, passed away Friday, April 30. She was born March 23, 1926 in Elm Flat, Texas. Hazel was a graduate of Kerens High School. She married Robert (Bob) McNeeley in 1946 and chose to devote herself to her family as a homemaker; a decision for which her two sons will be forever grateful. She was a wonderful cook and found much joy in hosting family and friends in her home and making sure no one left hungry or empty-handed. Hazel was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Kerens and was also a member of the Athens Chapter #177, Order of Eastern Star.

Hazel is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Elaine McNeeley of Granbury, and Bobby and Bonnie McNeeley of Eureka; granddaughters Dr. Wendy McNeeley of Brownwood, and Regina Rogers and husband William of Tehuacana; grandson Terry McNeeley and wife Marie of McKinney; great-granddaughters, Alex Garcia of Tehuacana and Chloe McNeeley of McKinney; sister, Barbara Dannelley and husband Rod of Ontario, California; brother-in-law, Ted McNeeley and wife Kaye of Corvallis, Oregon; sister-in-law Emilie McNeeley of Roseburg, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Bob McNeeley; granddaughter, Tammy McNeeley; parents, Clyde, Sr. and Gertha Andrews; brother, Clyde Andrews, Jr.; and sister-in-law Darlene Andrews.

The family requests that memorials be made to The Tammy McNeeley Memorial Scholarship at Texas Tech University, Box 42073, Lubbock, TX 79409, the Kerens First Baptist Church Building Fund, or charity of your choice.

Family visitation will be held Sunday, May 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Paschal Funeral Home, Kerens.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Paschal Funeral Home, Kerens with Rev. Wes Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Long Prairie Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dwain Andrews, Shane Gormly, Chad Gormly, Norton Conner, Eddie McNeese and Derek Kamp.
