Art Andrews, of Katy, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008. He was a Korean War Veteran, former Katy City Councilman, and was retired from Mustang Tractor. He was born March 5, 1930, in Birmingham, Alabama, the youngest child of Mike and Elizabeth Andrews.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy (McPhail) Andrews of Katy; three daughters, Kelly and her fiancÚ John, Karen and Cathy; Kelly's children, SSG John D.(currently serving in Iraq) and his wife and son, Megan and husband Duggan and their children, Nelson and Allison; Cathy's children, Janet and husband Kevin and thier new twins; and Sarah and fiancÚ Eric.
He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and the many friends he made over the years playing tennis, particularly in the Senior Olympics. The family expresses their appreciation to the nursing staff and caregivers at Christus St. Catherine Hospital in Katy, and those at Vitas Hospice at Memorial City Hospital. They are especially grateful to his physicians, Dr. Mukesh Mehta and Dr. Randeep Suneja and their staff for their wonderful care and disposition over these many years.
