WILLIAM E ANDREWS

ECKHART ‹ William E. Andrews, 59, of 17007 Lathan St., NW, Eckhart, died Monday, July 10, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born on July 14, 1940, in Frostburg, he was the son of Lois Ferree, Eckhart.

Mr. Andrews taught math and science at Hancock middle and high school. He also worked as an accountant for Kifer Enterprises. He was a graduate of Beall High School and Frostburg State College. He also attended the Fred Waring Music Workshop in Delaware Water Gap, Pa.

He was a Past Master of Mountain Lodge #99 A.F. & A.M., Past Patron of Mountain Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Ali Ghan Shrine, Shrine Band Unit and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 470. He was an accomplished musician having played with the Modernaires, Les Brown and his Band of Renowns, Fred Shannon Smith Orchestra, Mason Dixon Seven, Potomac Concert Band and the Kingston Trio.

Surviving besides his mother are two brothers, George "Rick" Andrews and wife Juanita, Eckhart, and John C. "Jerry" Ralston Sr. and wife Gail, Frostburg; two sisters, Candy Sandvick and husband David, Frostburg, and Bobbie Cameron and husband Bill, Eckhart; two nephews, Eric B. Andrews, Williamsport, and John C. Ralston Jr. and wife Jennifer, Williamsport; five nieces, Stephanie M. Andrews, Hagerstown, Shannon M. Imes and husband Rodney, Cumberland, Amanda R. Cameron, Eckhart, Katie A. and Kimberly R. Sandvick, Frostburg; three great-nephews, Carter and Carson Imes, Cumberland, and Zachary Andrews, Williamsport; and two great-nieces, Brooke and Brianna Ralston, Williamsport.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Mountain Lodge #99 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Harpold and the Rev. David Sandvick officiating.

Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eckhart Methodist Church, c/o George Harpold, 211 Delano Ave., Frostburg, MD 21532, or to the First Baptists Church, c/o David Sandvick, 136 E. Main St., Frostburg, MD 21532.

Pallbearers will be Eric B. Andrews, John C. Ralston Jr., Bill Henaghen Sr., Bob Biggs, Bill Henaghen Jr., and Rodney Imes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Bittner and Meril Phillips.
